Abstract
The use of microcanonical ensemble to measure coupling flows in Monte Carlo renormalization-group studies is reported on. The microcanonical “demon” method is used to measure the renormalized couplings after two blocking steps of the √3 renormalization transformation. The calculation is carried out for the quenched SU(2) gauge theory on 64 blocked lattices. It is found that the technique is a reliable method of tracking couplings over several blocking steps, and estimates for improved actions obtained in previous work on once-blocked lattices are confirmed.
